LUGDUNUM (Lyon, France)
This mint operated in four officinae, usually numbered A,B,C,D. Sometimes retrogarde C or D.
in Ex. sometimes LVG, for the Consecratio type of Carus,I-II-III or IIII.
One feature is the continued use of obverses depicting the emperor helmeted, holding spear and shield, a type which had been discarded by other mints.

ROME
This mint operated in seven officinae and as one might expect closer attention was given to the dies imperii of the various rulers including an issue for Carinus as sole emperor. All the small bronze denominations were produced at this mint.

TICINUM (Pavia, Italy)
This mint operated in six officina ans was very active in this period. The one remarkable point to note is that this mint apparently continues to strike normal coins for Carus long after his death.
There seems to be far too many coins of his sons as Augusti to even consider the opposing view that the mint closed shortly after his death. One must take into account the lack of Consecration coins and the use of a slightly longer obverse legend in the final issues. Also the fact that Magnia Urbica shares the coinages, something which only occurs on the later issues at other mints shows that they extended well into the reign of Carinus. The mint was closed after the fifth issue in 283.
